Weeeeeeeeeeee!! Can I say it again?? Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee... Yesterday, November 16, 2010, I had the privilege to tour with some current and former DTI personnel somewhere in Misamis Oriental. We had no work yesterday so we planned on to go somewhere out of town. Initao was the place we planned because we intended on to go nature tripping. We planned on to go with cooking wares too but thank God it didn't go according to plan. Cooking takes time and it would really spoil the fun of sight seeing and appreciating nature's beauty. Eva, Elvith, Bebing, Jik-Jik, Carmel and Darius joined me in what was dubbed as the Initao Escapade. This was a crossroad for me since I had a driving incident way back in 2003 where I accidentally bumped a '96 Honda Civic to an unfortunate 30 year old autistic. From there, I haven't driven way past El Salvador City. It traumatized me and haunts me until yesterday. The escapade yesterday made me overcome that. It was the first time I actually driven past El Salvador City and eventually, reached Initao. Happy Days!! The day was humid and had a douse of gloom, so there weren't any unnecessarily experiences of heat trouble. Except for Elvith's breathing problem due to T-ICE. Hahaha!! It is really good to have a heavy meal before drinking T-ICE. Hahahaha!! The driving experience was enjoyable since the road was already repaired and there weren't much of a traffic. Maybe the Pacquiao Hysteria was still lingering on, explains the moderate traffic outside town. We passed Laguindingan, Alubijid, and Gitagum to reach our destination. We arrived late 12:30PM and we proceeded to Midway Resort. The resort was a good place to relax after travel time. Their food was mediocre though. It was not the type of food that you could advertise due to taste. It's just a normal home grown Filipino cooking. The place was not yet properly finished. It was undergoing construction and expansion. But it promises something more though. It has Ziplines, Banana Sea Ride, ATV Rides, Jet Skis, etc. It has a picturesque view but its potential has yet to be fully realized to reach its more sophisticated view area. We dine afterward. We took some pictures and I realized that I have a knack for taking good shot given a good camera. I managed to capture good pictures during the process. I discovered my skill in photography. I will eventually, post those pics here once Ninang Eva uploads the pictures from her camera. The fun broke when Darius received a call that her mom had an accident. Darius rushed back to Cagayan de Oro City after we went to Lasang, Initao. We also visited Initao's National Park. We took some weird shots and posed along the Centennial Tree and the Bat Cave. After our escapade turned photo shoot, we traveled back taking a detour at El Salvador City's Divine Mercy Shrine. Most of us wear shorts so we were forced to cover our legs (Men included). We took shots and grab a few snacks. We experienced a great deal of heat at the place. It seemed that the ground emitted volcanic reactions. We sweated while walking a straight path. Not to mention the huge slopes of stairs we had to climb up and down. The gigantic statue of the Divine Mercy was the attraction. I developed and advanced my camera shots here. Hahahahaha! Thanks Ninang Eva for the chance of realizing my knacks for photography. After the experience, we all were tired and eventually went home. Except the carelessness on my part forgetting to text my wife that I already am traveling outside the city. I have to remember to text her every thing I do to my wife before I even start to do it. Hahahaha! Well, here's to next episode of The Traveling Kagay-anon!
